Laurie

Full Stack Developer

Laurie has been a Druid since the summer of 2021, first as a trainee and now as a full stack developer in our customer projects and maintenance team. Before she got into software development, Laurie studied and worked in business administration. After picking up coding, she decided to switch careers. It required a lot of problem solving and learning new things, which Laurie really enjoys. “It can be frustrating too, but mostly fun”, she says.


About work: Laurie thinks the best part about working at Druid is open communication: “Issues are brought up, discussed and addressed effectively”. 

Currently Laurie is doing continuous development in the maintenance team, and supports and mentors new developers joining the team. 

“I appreciate that we always have the support of our project managers,” she says. 

Laurie has also been focusing on UI/UX development as well as accessibility, which has been fun.

Life outside of work: When Laurie is not working, she is probably doing indoor bouldering or sport climbing. She just got her national lead card, which is needed for belaying a lead climber. 

Laurie is originally from Mauritius and moved to Finland a couple of years ago. She really appreciates how people in Finland respect each other's personal space.
