Robert started working at Druid in 2019 and has found his home in our Magical Support maintenance team. He's mostly doing Drupal backend development and has become more or less familiar with all of our projects. One of his learnings is that communication with the customer is key; when the customer need is clear, discussed and agreed upon together, it's easier to implement it right.

About work: "In maintenance and continuous development there are always many things going on simultaneously", Robert says. "But if things get stressful or complicated sometimes, the team always understands and supports. I get to work with great colleagues."

Robert also appreciates that in true self-managed Teal fashion, everyone has the opportunity to do other things than coding and influence how Druid develops as a company. He has been actively involved in different swarms, such as billing and strategy work. 

"Taking part in different activities has increased my understanding of how the company operates and where we are heading."

At the moment Robert works almost fully remotely. A couple of times a week he comes to the office in the evening – not to work but for a swim!

Life outside of work: "Well I have a five-year-old son, so that sort of explains my free time. We like to play Lego Indiana Jones together or with Hot Wheels car tracks", Robert describes. 

He's into computer and console games, and sometimes he plays the guitar or piano. For fresh air and physical exercise, Robert takes forest walks with their dog Iggy, and goes on cycling trips in the summer.
